Ready to make shepherds pie? Let's dive in! Get your ingredients prepped and let's get cooking!
- Preheat oven to 180C
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium/high heat. Cook mince in two batches for 8 minutes or until browned. Remove meat from pan.
- Add onion and garlic to pan and cook until softened, 3 minutes.
- Return mince to pan and add gravy powder. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add stock, tomatoes and carrots and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium/low. Simmer for 25-30 mins, or until thickened, then add peas.
- While meat is cooking, bring a saucepan of salted water to the boil and cook potatoes for 10 mins or until tender and then drain.
- Return drained potatoes to pan over low heat and mash until smooth. Add butter and milk and stir until butter melts and mixture is well combined.
- Spoon mince into a casserole dish. Top with potato mixture and sprinkle with cayenne pepper.
- Bake for 25 mins or until golden.
- Serve and enjoy.
